Cristina Cornaro obtained the Laurea degree in Physics (cum laude) from La Sapienza University, Rome, Italy in 1991, and the Ph.D. from the Tor Vergata University, Rome, in 1996. She spent almost one year in research on thermo-fluid-dynamics processes at the University of Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, and two years as a Post-Doc at the Tor Vergata University.
Since 2001 she has been a research assistant with the Department of Enterprise Engineering of the Tor Vergata University.
She is teaching Environmental Applied Physics for the Tor Vergata Engineering courses and Certification, Measurements and Monitoring Systems for the second-level Master in Photovoltaic Engineering at the same University.

Her research activity concerns thermo-fluid-dynamics processes, comfort and indoor air quality, environmental measurements and solar energy conversion.
She manages the environmental applied physics laboratory and, since 2003, the weather and solar station of the Tor Vergata University. Since 2007 she is also managing the ESTER facility, consisting of the solar and weather unit and of a PV module monitoring unit. Her interests have recently focused onto weather and solar radiation measurements at ground for performance evaluation of photovoltaic systems and monitoring and test of solar conversion devices of various technologies.

Prof. Cornaro is author/co-author of almost 40 scientific publications in international journals, conferences and books
