SPECTRUM TRADING
Spectrum is an essential (and scarce) resource for wireless services. Efficiency must then be pursued in its usage. Assigning spectrum on a (semi)permanent basis and limiting the possibility of transferring spectrum usage rights doesn't lead to an efficient usage of that resource. The establishment of a secondary market for spectrum (a.k.a. as spectrum trading) is then a welcome opportunity. Research on spectrum trading must then involve a variety of issues: regulatory and political, technical, and economical. Our research explores the pricing issues, i.e., how spectrum can be priced on the secondary market.
